Union of Black Episcopalians and Episcopal Church Foundation Announce Partnership
Dear UBE Members,
Death and Disaster are like thieves...they sometime come in the dark and catch us unaware! We no sooner have a respite from the devastation of Katrina, then along come the California fires! We have UBE members in that great state and we want them to know that we are praying for the whole state of California, and especially for them. We pray that none of them lose their lives or their property!
When Katrina hit our people in New Orleans, their was a rush of kindness and charitable action which swept UBE from coast to coast. I pray it will be the same for the victims of the California fires. We need desperately to show solidarity with them in their hour of need. Whatever hurts one of us, hurts all of us.
I will stay in touch with the our Vice President, The Rev. Andrea Hayden as she interfaces with the different chapters involved. Together we will do the Mission of the Church as we all seek to assist our Brothers and Sisters in California in any way we can.
